The items in this week's bulletin are courtesy of JARL, the
Ohio/Penn DX Bulletin, Yankee Clipper Contest Club PacketCluster

PAKISTAN. AP2JZB was heard on 21299 kHz at 1636z. QSL via K2EWB.
IRAN. EP2DL was heard on 14151 kHz at 0045z. EP2ASZ has been heard
a couple of times recently on 20 meter CW around 2200z.
NEW FREQUENCIES FOR JAs. On May 20 the Japanese Ministry of Posts
and Telecommunications made the segment 3747 to 3754 kHz available
to Japanese amateurs. This allotment is in addition to 3500 to 3575
and 3791 to 3805 kHz segments.
FRANZ JOSEF LAND. 4K2BY, 4K2MAL, R1FJL and R1FJC have been active,
mostly on 20 meter CW between 2130 and 0300z. R1FJC has been on the
14247 DX Net around 2145z and 4K2MAL has been heard on 18078 kHz at
2020z.
WESTERN SAMOA. Cliff, 5W1GC gets on 7001 kHz from 0830 to 1115z.
He can sometimes be heard around 10103 kHz during the same time
frame. Also check 18070 kHz at 0145z and 14218 kHz at 0330z.
BURUNDI. On May 21 9U/F5FHI on 21286 kHz at 1745z. No
documentation has been received for this operation.
BAHAMAS. Mitch, KH6M, will sign C6AHY on 160 through 10 meters.
His main effort will be in the CQ WW WPX CW Contest this weekend.

AUSTRAL AND MARQUESAS ISLANDS. Nao, NX1L, and Kan, JA1BK, who is
presently signing FO0MIZ on Tahiti Island, are going on a DXpedition
to these two new, prospective DXCC countries. They plan to file a
petition with the DXAC for new-country consideration after their
trip. Kan will operate from Rurutu Island of the Australes group
May 28, 29 and 30. Then on to Nuku Hiva Island of the Marquesas
group from June 1 to 11. Nao will accompany Kan for the first 9
days and sign FO0AKI. QSL FO0MIZ and FO0MIZ via JA1HGY, and FO0AKI
via NX1L.
SOUTH KOREA. HL9DC was heard on 7005 kHz between 1030 to 1200z.
Lee, HL5AWS, can be found between 14180 and 14205 kHz around 0745,
1115 and 1415z. Harry, HL9HH, checks into the 14226.5 DX Net as
early as 2315z. HL3IWD gets on 14018 kHz between 1100 and 1200z.
SAINT VINCENT. Rudi, DK7PE, is now active as J8/AH0G on all bands
working mostly CW. QSL via DK7PE.
ALAND AND AHVENANMAA ISLANDS. These two will be activated by a team
from Helsinki during the CQ WW WPX CW Contest. This all band effort
will use the call sign OH0AAQ. QSL via OH2NRV.
CONGO. Joe, DF1AL, of recent 3A-land fame, is planning a DXpedition
for February 27 to April 6, 1995. Hopes are for this to be an all
band multi-op effort with satellite station as a bonus. On May 18
TN1AT checked into a DX net on 14247 kHz at 2130z.
MACAO. XX9GD was heard on 50135 kHz at 0154z and 3799 kHz at 1204z.
QSL via Antonio A. P. B. Costa, Box 1476, Macao. XX9AW was heard on
14200 kHz at 1345z. QSL via KU9C.
ASCENSION ISLAND. Jim, N6TJ, is active as ZD8Z until June 2.
Besides a serious contest effort, Jim plans pre-contest 160 meter
work. QSL via VE3HO.
THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO. The CQ World Wide WPX CW Contest,
sponsored by CQ Magazine, is from 0000z May 28 to 2400z May 29.
Operate no more than 36 hours. Exchange RST and serial number
starting with 001. For complete details check page 111 and 112 of
February QST.
World Telecommunications Day, sponsored by LABRE, is from 0000 to
2400z May 28 for CW, and 0000 to 2400z May 29 for phone. Work
stations once per band exchanging signal report and serial number
starting with 001. More info is on page 136 of May QST.
